The Ministry of Corrections and Policing has an opportunity for highly motivated and organized individuals to fill the role of the permanent part time laundry and stockroom float pool at the Regina Correctional Centre.
The candidates will be responsible for overseeing the operation of central laundry or stockroom. Responsibilities of the laundry positions include training, instructing and supervising offenders in collection, laundering and delivery of inmate institutional clothing and bedding as well as maintenance of the laundry schedules and commercial laundry equipment. Responsibilities of the stockroom position include the distribution of supplies, canteen, contingency uniforms, maintaining the inventory control system, uniform ledger system, and detailed ordering and receiving reports.
As the successful candidate, you will have knowledge of human behavior, the criminal justice system and security procedures as well as WHMIS, communicable disease precautions and material management. You should also have knowledge of motivational and instructional methods to demonstrate, train and teach offenders. You will also need to successfully complete a security skills/orientation program offered through RCC.
